A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hello!
I'm Lu Sobredo, owner/publisher of Lu Travels Abroad Blog.

This blog was created to celebrate travel. In light of the pandemic it has evolved into a springboard for unleashing creativity encouraging one and all to travel with our imagination. The pandemic in the U.S.A is the worst in the world with lack of a universal response from its leadership.
If outside the house, please everyone wear a mask and keep a social distance as ordered by health experts. Paul Krugman, the celebrated economist wrote: Freedom in the U.S. has become synonymous with acting irresponsibly...As in people refusing to wear a mask or keep a social distance because they think it impinges on their freedom. However, the rest of us have a god-given right to want to live and serve out our mission in on this earth and want to stay alive. So get with the program or stay home.
Prior to the pandemic, my mantra was to: Say "yes" to travel!
Because, there's hardly an ideal time to travel. Something always gets in the way. This COVID-19 is in the way, and we should pay heed.
I retired early from a long-term career in public service with the State of California (U.S.A.).
Poised to start another career as an independent consultant, travel the world or at the very least accompany my adventurer husband on his next trips.

A year into retirement came the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). My world collapsed and rendered me nearly-immobile and wheelchair-bound for almost three years. Life changed. With much will, love, support from family and friends, and awesome doctors, I regained sufficient functionality--my new normal. Living in a new normal meant rethinking life.
